Formed in 2011 it is now prominent in Frome Town Council, which from May 2015 it now controls all 17 seats. The emergence of the party is a result of ideas developed by Peter Macfadyen which have been described as "flatpack democracy". ==History== Independents for Frome was first established in January 2011 by a group of Frome residents. The party fielded 17 candidates in the 2011 local elections, winning ten seats and therefore taking control of the town council with their majority.
